Episode 20. The Life and Death of CCG’s

Following the release of Magic The Gathering in 1993 there was an explosion of unique and branded collectible card games, many of questionable quality. Many have fallen into obscurity only to be found in the darkest corners of ebay and craigslist. Damon takes us through the best CCG’s, both the well known and the forgotten, and gives tips on how to get into the world of CCG’s without breaking the bank.

Boy Crazy, obviously the best CCG every made. Players secretly decide which boy would pair best with another player. To the game’s credit, it featured boys of many ethnic backgrounds, and even boys with disabilities.  (image attached)


Vampire: The Masquarade (also known as Jyhad) is a unique CCG optimized for 4-5 players. It’s a unique and enjoyable experience if you can get past the art and graphic design.(image attached)
